April 3rd, 2018, Zaragoza – Zentyal, developer of Zentyal Linux Small Business Server, today announced a new version of the Commercial Zentyal Server Edition. Zentyal Server 5.1 aims at offering an easy-to-use Linux server with native compatibility with Microsoft Active Directory®. This release completes the Zentyal Server feature set, with the goal of providing small and medium business an all-in-one server solution.
Zentyal Server 5.1 is based on the latest Ubuntu Server LTS version (Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS) published in March 2018 and it comes with the latest versions of all the integrated software. This version comes with two much required features: user profile pictures management in Active Directory and option to block HTTPS pages based on domain. It also introduces new modules such as IPSec/L2TP, IDS/IPS and FTP. From infrastructure and security point of view, an important update is the new Ubuntu HWE Kernel that provides support for recent hardware and fixes for Medown and Spectre vulnerabilities.
In addition, Zentyal Server 5.1 introduces anvirus on-access scan, DHCP Option 150 and 155 (for IP phones configuration) and integrates SOGo 4.0 and ejabberd 17.07. It also comes with important bugfixes, usability and performance improvements, specially in Network, Samba, DNS and HTTP Proxy modules.
