Zimios joins eBox Partner Program and starts offering eBox based server products and services in Finland

eBox Technologies, developer of the Linux small business server eBox Platform, announced today that it has signed a partnership agreement with Zimios to promote eBox based server products and services in Finland. Zimios is an IT company located in Helsinki, specialized in providing IT support services from system troubleshooting, support and disaster recovery to consultancy services, mainly to small and mid-sized companies.

OPAEF from the County Council of Seville chooses an eBox Platform based solution to unite all their offices in a single computer network

The Provincial Agency for Economic and Fiscal Assistance (OPAEF for the Spanish initials) in the County Council of Seville (Spain) has launched a system to unify the management of computer networks and users of all their offices located throughout the province. The goal of the system is to unite the 21 geographically dispersed OPAEF offices into a single network, allowing easier network management and providing users with higher quality of service at lower cost. To meet these objectives, the OPAEF decided to implement a solution based on a Spanish open source project, eBox Platform – Linux server specially designed for network management in small and medium organizations.

New eBox Control Center version with improved monitoring and reporting options

eBox Technologies announced today a new version of the eBox Control Center, a cloud-based product that allows centralized real-time administration and monitoring of multiple eBox servers. This version ships a series of new features, including real-time monitoring of the hardware performance, automatic report generation and report rebranding, as well as a number of other minor improvements. Additionally, this version is fully compatible with eBox Platform 1.5 development version so users can manage both eBox Platform 1.4 and 1.5 servers from eBox Control Center.

Linux Format Names eBox Platform as the Best Firewall Distribution in its June 2010 Issue

In the latest issue of the leading UK Linux magazine Linux Format, its Roundup section – that benchmarks every month a large number of software solutions, was focused on comparing a selection of Firewall Distributions and finding the best option for both home and office setups. Among the compared distributions were ClearOS, IPCop, Monowall, PFSense, Smoothwall Advanced, Smoothwall Express and the final winner, eBox Platform.
